Indio is situated in the eastern part of the Coachella Valley. The city is located 77 miles east of Riverside, 23 miles east of Palm Springs, 127 miles east of Los Angeles, and approximately 98 miles north of Mexicali, Baja California very close to the U.S.-Mexican border. The city has a land area of 33.23 square miles.
